About the Program

The East Central Drug And Violent Offender Task Force strives to identify, target, disrupt, and dismantle drug trafficking and pursues street level interdiction and violent offenders through a collaborative effort of federal, state, and local law enforcement. 


The Chisago County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the Isanti County Sheriff's Office and the Pine County Sheriff's Office, formed a drug and violent offender task force in 2012. The task force serves a population of approximately 121,000 residents, encompassing an area of over 2,300 square miles, and focuses highly on investigating the trafficking of narcotics, gang activities, and other criminal violence.

2012 Results

In 2012, the East Central Drug and Violent Offender Task Force confiscated 2 pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of $90,000; 225 pounds of processed marijuana with a street value of over $675,000; seized over 1,200 marijuana plants, 24 pounds of khat, 2.5 ounces of cocaine, and 560 illegally possessed prescription pills. In addition, the task force forfeited over $81,000, 24 guns, 5 personally owned vehicles, 2 commercial buildings, and agents were utilized in multiple undercover operations, including a murder for hire crime.
